a worm and hook plop
orange koi gather around
like nosy neighbors

Today the worm crawls.
Tomorrow he will transform,
And fly in beauty.

Dirty worms squirming
Excavating with instinct
Wiggle brown wormy ~

Shoveling thick dirt
Accidently cut a worm

a new dawn
I see the inch worm
still climbing

young, smooth, trim and firm
soon to be food for the worm
life, but a short term

a robin hops
after the gardener - -
eats a worm

Quick eyes find the hidden worm
Harbinger of  spring

A simple daisy
yet  exquisitely formed
white and gold abound


My blackbird follows
me around in the garden
cheerful tune emits


snowdrop  so lovely
you poke up your head through snow
 glistening snow white


a robin redbreast
tugged at a juicy worm
he was so pleased

      robin hopping in my yard - 
             worm darts in his hole!

squirming on the pole
worm knows his place in nature
line extends, fish bites

weed covers the pond-
a crested grebe
dives for treasure

a puffed up firecrest
alights upon
our smoke tree

a dawn delicacy-
the mistlethrush's
everyday grub

out of the nest-
the fledgling hopes
mother finds a worm

beneath leaves
the tiny acorn awakens
a worm dies

Inch worm inch by inch
Butterfly hue upon hue
Locust dying soon

A small soft green worm-
      it hides into a cacoon
      and turns butterfly

mockingbird attacks
wiggling worm on hot driveway....
briefly hold brake down  

God blesses in so many ways. I see the Mockingbird that feeds from the ground and then drive up the road short way and there are about 8 or 10 swallows feeding from the air.

Butterfly enclosed
By its spinnings emerges
Once seen as a worm

free apples

      makes a happy

Books fall to forest 
Birds sing, feed on strange worms green
Knowledge, thoughts consumed

out of the nest
the fledgling hopes
mother finds a worm

if naught I were just 
a worm inside a rotten 
apple diseased I
~
I swell rot out through
the core stem would break then I
falling down the tree
~
down to the ground freed
for the apple doesn't fall 
farer from the tree

A bird greeted him.

a small fleeing worm
desired by swift striking bird
finds an open hole
