the rose blooms again
and the lark will start to sing
when I hear your voice

years ago my love
the breeze danced in the willow
and I lost my heart

the years have passed
oh, the memories
love, do you remember?

sky lark bringing joy
as you serenade with song
trilling notes soaring

for such a plain bird
you change into beauty
as you sing your tunes

you uplift spirits
when you appear foretelling spring
with your golden tones

Oh ageless maple....

standing mute in harmony

Piercing frosty morn
Larksong fills my soul with hope;
Harbinger of spring

I am the catfish
scavenging muddy rivers
bottom lakes and streams

lo, muddy waters
dark and mildly polluted 
feeds I bottoms quake

at the bottom streams swimming
in deep dark waters

FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness a gift
Called upon a thousand times
No lark there before

lark spreads wings at dawn

sun folds reticent clouds –

shrike strikes in pursuit


foxglove spreads soft seeds

hedge shelters nature’s will –

dusk bears fear of growth


stars shine midnight oil

comets applaud rise and fall

night rings in silence

lark free from cat's mouth

across the wide spring meadow
