January’s start. . . 
I hibernate in my cave
with bare thoughts

January’s end. . . 
may February’s groundhog
see its shadow

bat flies sees nothing
from his nest eagle sees all
the groundhog takes bets

Walks through the back yard
it is looking for some friends
so they can play cards.

white skies . . .
a grumpy groundhog
emerges

We blame the groundhog
For six more weeks of winter
Tho it's the sun's fault

vultures on the lawn
the buffet is now open ~
groundhog got here first

first middle West Feb.
6 more weeks of winter's host;
groundhog has no choice;
~
what about winter?
an impatient groundhog prowls;
laughs, more Wintertime!
