standing hours at a time
waving in their prime

The warm leaves crackle
From being rudely pushed aside 
As Daffodils emerge

Opening their yellow eye
through a hat of snow.

Songs of love
In the wind

Wind catches

sunshine warming eaves

Seashore, pleasant breeze
Sparrows, daffodils, gulls in the blue -
my baby sister smiles

Gentle breeze heads nod - 
Opening buds, dew drop kissed - 
Majestic crowns lift.

Hear the lush beauty?
	Cherry blossoms sing a song
the birds cannot sing.


Wake up lazy spring,
	your daffodils are sprouting.
Hear their trumpets blare?


The green ivy sleeps
	as winter comes to its end.
Melting snow wakes it.

Await daffodils
colour of sun cheers the soul
imagine spring warmth.

rain clouds gather with

             hues of grey and brown -

             daffodils bring joy

Still is the mind
The Robin and daffodil
fills the now

Golden flowers of Spring
Goddess scented daffodils
Beckoning the dawn

a forgotten pail
optimistic daffodils sprout without
dirt

rose beds laid
daffodils astray
flower garden planted for spring

Wet dry daffodils
           Deeply rooted in water
           Sunken by full drought



(This is my first attempt at Haiku, I hope you like it)

rains fall, rivers rise
spring’s arrival is delayed
she wears water wings

tulips peeking through
response to a pre-set time
too early for spring

daffodils on time
expected spring a no show
blooms droop in defeat

high waters recede
undefeated spring arrives
muddied but unbowed

march winds toss  
    pretty yellow heads -
    daffodils bend in wind
