Twilight of the Bluejay

sapphire on sapphire
at the rise of jewelled night
when the stars flash fire

mysterious quest
like the wide-eyed owl spying
as beauty's fading

in the vast deep blue
the scarlet sun is sinking
like a cherry bomb
