STORM COMING African tribal violence

Storm coming, madam
Me-- I’m going up country--
Lay low and stay sweet*

Note: Political unrest near Nairobi, Kenya due to election strategiesPolish nun told me that she was warned by a local moonshine runner to hideToo lateShe was pistol whipped by local police who wanted more protection moneyDidn’t get the money (it was a free clinic, so nurses had no money) Police beat the nurse/nuns and absconded with the very rare and precious AIDS meds to sell to the hospitals.Free AIDS clinic was forced to close.(Kenyan government does not have free health care for the poor) Nuns are recovering then being transferred to other clinicsThree went back to Europe forced into early medical retirement due to permanent injuries sustained by police and/lootersThe care program(education and/or placement) for the children whose parents were AIDS patients is goneChildren have taken to the streets in desperation Count your blessings.

women make their own choices
about health issues?

LOVE STORIES  (6 Haikus)

on one long    low   string
plumbing the depth of despair

like sharp pixie nails
teasing    hurting    sadistic
mascara    blue smoke

she says “I love you”
perfumed breath    mascara eyes
flask of red    red wine

both vulnerable
blue cigarette smoke curling
tears    empty bottle

gypsy violin
blue cigarette smoke curling
sans paroles

sorrow and despair?
no!    a D arpeggio
sun    flowers    health    life!

Cicada serenade
Hot dusk darkness;
Dry air moans

Bamboo veil
Rustle of dry leaves;
Windy whispers

Moon cake festival
Mid-Autumn nocturne;
Lanterns for company

Evening parade
Little people play;
Lantern procession

Warm sanctuary
Buzzy books beam;
Silence speaks

Active exercise
Heart health engulfs;
Easy interlude

Fancy frames feat
Quietude prospers;
Silence sheds light

Grass verge here
Plumeria decor;
Purple flowers sparkle

Drowsy awakening
Drooping dreams;
New day hurls

Send us a picture
When we receive your email
Will know who they are.

Father Dave sends us messages
about people he has visited who
are having health problemsIt
would be nice if he attached a
picture of them in his email.

Curse With Worse and Need A Nurse

Curse With Worse and Need A Nurse

There could be a curse,
And all around is the worse;
You will need a nurse.

Name of Nurse: All of those in ICU

Unit or Department: ICU

Hospital: Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center

Describe why they are deserving of Daisy award

You have to bring up daisies and each daisy
is a patient and also member of their family.
If I ever have a need or question they are
always right there instantlyThey always
have a mile on their face while being full
of tender passionHow are you today
MrsHorn and Sir is there anything I
can do to help youHere, let me help
you with thatIt was almost as if I
was the patient myself and not just
her husbandThey answered each
of their questions and if they did
not have an answer they found
someone who could me give me
an answerPatient care is turbulent
and changing minute to minute and
second to secondEveryone adjusted
accordingly making the best utilization
of their time and resourcesICU is
a nightmare and no one ever feels
welcome thereNoises are being made
and lights flashing and tons of people
being in and out at timesJill is still
under sedation and has been since
Monday, January 28th, 2019Here
we are in the 21st century already.
ICU should be called Intensive Complex
UnitThat is what it is to each patient
and their family membersI could go
on and on about the ICU there but
don't want to bore you any more.

Your Name:  James Thomas Horn
                    Wife Jill is your patient

EMAIL: Mine is jthorn5656@gmail.com

PSThe Daisy Award Program is a
well-deserving, and well-designed
extraordinary program.

This is good for anyone who is interested
in poetry.
