Soaring Hawk - A Haiku Series

Soaring Hawk poised high Back drop a deep sapphire sky Winds in attendance Mighty wings unfold Caressing the Wind Spirits They lift and support Circling Hawk perceives Rainbow circle on a cloud Framed is his shadow On oceans of blue Snow hills of clouds seem to float On silvered ripples Waves swell as they curl White manes gracefully flow Rolling to the shore Higher still soars Hawk Wind Spirits on either side Carry him upwards Land and mountains meld Lofty mountains crown the land Great aspirations Hawk gracefully glides Towards the shore he observes His island in bloom Festooned in colour Hibiscus - Red, Gold and Pink In leafy bouquets Flowers - Pale yellow Their sweet perfume exuding Riding on the Winds Romance in the air Couples hold hands and frolic An Island in love Hawaiian Hawk proud Sees everything - land and sea Paradise Island Wind voices whisper Of Rebirth, Growth and Culture Hawaii has heard
Footnote: We recently visited Hawaii, one of our favorite holiday destinations, once again we were carried away with the ambience and peacefulness of this Island Paradise. The inspiration came while viewing the breath taking panorama from the 16th floor of the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach ResortThe Waikiki beach, the beautiful gardens and the mountains all formed the pictureBut we needed a story and the Spirit legends supplied the theme All this came together and composed on the aircraft on our way back home to Australia. I have tried to capture and share some of the essence which is the Spirit of this beautiful island, its rebirth of culture that’s embroidered in the legends of a traditional Hula dance The Red Hibiscus (koki'o'ula) is the flower of the big island, while the Gold flower mentioned - The vibrant, sunshine-hued Yellow Hibiscus (ma'o hau hele) is Hawaii's official National flowerIn Hawaiian culture, Hibiscus is a symbol of old royalty & communicates power and respect The Hawk Kaha Ka ‘lo - the highest Chiefs where often called ‘lo – ‘Hawk with eyes that can see everywhere’ Ku Makani ‘Rising Wind’ has a position of power grace and motion. Ka Leo O Haukine ‘The voice of the Wind’, is so named. The two Winds according to the legend, are the voices of ancestors who listen and speak through the windsTogether they are the Spirits that uplift the mighty ‘Lo – The Hawaiian hawk. Some of the imagery described is seen from the aircraft as it would be seen through the eyes of the Hawaiian Hawk The circular rainbow, for those who have not been fortunate to have witnessed this rare phenomenon, it actually does exist. Seduction In Spring - A Haiku Garland

Cherry Blossoms Bloom Resplendently dressed in Pink Seducing the Spring Glory unfolding They release their sweet fragrance Pirouette and twirl Music from the breeze With limbs so graceful swaying Blushing and bowing Time of renewal A fleeting symbol of life In two weeks farewell Ethereal Muse Celebration of nature Next spring awaits you
Author's Note: I hope that in this set of Haiku, I've managed to convey the traditional importance of the Cherry Blossom Season in Japan. Cherry blossoms are the symbolic flower of the spring, a time of renewal and the fleeting nature of lifeTheir life span is very shortAfter their beauty peaks around two weeks, the blossoms start to fall I liken these flowers to the beautiful Heavenly elusive Muses, the daughters of Zeus. The awesomeness of the natural beauty of Japan is continued in the my poem and arrangement - 'A Rose by any other name ---'

Dare to dream of Wind

He ran away to chase his dreams
Short of a miracle was it not?

Yet the winds of change roared strongly at night
Enter- the fierce winds of time
It will be you alone.

As you dance, I cry
Blow the flowers toward me
Free to drown me now.

Like a DJ on steroids,
I won't allow you to slice through my heart anymore,
My beautiful daughter, Windstream.

A Symbol Of Spring's Resurrection

cold February's rain saturates the good earth... star magnolia blooms
A symbol of spring's resurrection are those early blossomsThe Daffodils spring up under the bright yellow Forsythia and beautiful pink tulip shaped flowers cover the Japanese Magnolia..Resurrection stated in the most subtle wayThey say to me there is hope that the sun will soon warm the earth's soil signaling to all of nature to come alive.
red buds glow decorating the roadside... heavy fog cloaks all
Spring's presence can be unobtrusive slipping in like a lamb One day it is winter then a heady essence wafts on a zephyr that aroma of pale lavender Wisteria announcing spring has sprung. Sponsor: Debbie Guzzi Contest: Spring Haibun red buds glow(verb)

Armin Babic

I cannot believe that I used to have a crush on you,
You are cold, heartless, and MEAN!
I never talked about you, never did anything to you,
I never deserved that, you had no need to be so mean.
You stooped so low, never had I seen someone do that,
People told me you were like this, I just didn't believe them.
I didn't believe her when she said you were a womanizer,
Didn't believe you were a Cowboy Casanova, well you showed me,
And never will I do that again, you made me believe,
Believe her, snf you made me believe you liked me, you led me,
Led me on, and then you were like, "I don't like you."
Well guess what I didn't care then, and I sure don't care now,
Cause I loved my hubby all along,
Love him more than anyone and anything, I love him and only him!
I cannot believe I used to have a crush on someone like you,
I swear you are the spawn of Satan himself,
And I feel sorry for girls who date you or fall in love with you,
I do, because all you do is play them like a game.
I don't hate you, but I don't like you like that anymore.
You led me to believe you liked me, and then you said it was all a joke,
Yeah well you were a joke.
You were a pill, I was willing to take,
I am glad I didn't take you,
You are an unmistakeable , unidentified drug.
I am a good-bad girl, I can tell a bad boy,
But even I didn't see this, didn't see that you like this,
The boy with beautiful brown eyes,
Are now dull, no longer do they shine,
That brown hair, that I loved, is now just a memory,
The boy born on February 18th,
The one that I thought was perfect,
God what the hell was I thinking??
Don't ask if I'm alright,
I don't have the answer,
But if you ask me if I want to hurt you badly, I will say,
Say yes without hesitation.
You have no idea how bad I want to hurt you,
But then again I don't.
Half of me hates you,
The other half can't bear to see you,
The game you played on me,
It was cleaver, but it was also cruel and hurtful!
I want to hurt you like you hurt me, but I could never that mean.
I could be as mean as you,
The person who doesn't know how much what he does hurts people,
I bet you don't care either,
Because that's just the kind of person you are.
They tried to warn me, those two girls, M&H,
But I didn't listen to them.
I didn't listen to them, because I am not the kind of person,
The kind of person, to believe what other people say, without,
Without knowing about you, getting to know what you're like,
Until you do that to me.
Until I learn on my own, that's the kinda person I am,
I take the time to figure people out, instead of judging them,
Judging them by how they look like, and what people say,
That's the kinda person I am, I am a strong Redneck Woman.
And I will never change who I am, change myself for anyone,
I will not change for anyone.
If you don't like me for myself, then you don't deserve my time, or my words,
Or my anything.
This is officially the end of me and my poem,
Goodbye.

RApE An heinous Crime

Blessed me as a Girl, why god?why me?
Its me or my weak soul?
Somebody can be so cruel, I didn't understand the semantics of life?
I couldn't resist strength to collide with them.
Was Woefully screaming but nobody could hear me!
Beyond imagination I went through the obscured mystery,
Don't know why I faced and made a worst history.
Demolished my dreams and gambled my life,
I didn't elude with them in a baffling way with knife.

Escaping from them I darted into dock yard,
Merciless act of them traumatized me into ward.
Presbyopicaly they captured though was far away,
Vulgarismically commented, bestrided pain on my heart walking on my way.
Fuddling up all night with narco drinks, stenching badly.
Ridiculously unwrapped me, laughing at my situation, abusing me madly.

Raped me horribly turn by turn,
Fearlessly dared to touch my soul, don't know what did they earn?
Mentally harassed me, Physically damaged my body.
Fragmentized my mortality into pieces,
My body aching painfully.
Shattering stargazes, They spoiled my life!
If l would have survived, nobody would have married me,
Molested persona, nobody would have accepted me.
Characterized by obscenity, choked my aims.
****ing porcine's, You Wasted my life, fumbled my soul!

I was someone's daughter, someone's sister,
Implemented life's worst atrociously brutal twister.
Stealed my eyes interacting with my parents even,
Felt ashamed, I could not fulfill their wish.
Asswholer's, You forced me to suspend my life!

Without privileges, How you act like a devil?
Aggravating Crime indulged into your bloody job.
Tainted my image, left tears in my eyes,
Everybody afflicted with the last breathe of mine, waited for new rise.
With broken heart, fear petrified in me.
Intense mourning plagued entire nation.
Signs presaged bad news towards society, resulting into tension.
Lousy creatures, your Scuzzy brain should be smashed!

What did You culprits got out of it?
You drastically twirled my nerves.
You stated me as flaming hot,But I wasn't a fire.
You crisped my breathe,Unlawfully ruined the virginity.
I curse you all those who still thinks that we are just your toys to play.
Don't think that you had any right to hold our strings of life.

Ocean of dreams with bursting tears.
I ditched to withstand with devils and daemons.
But now, Stop spreading the Epidemic disease from the root.
For the sake of humanity, Save & sanctify my beautiful sisters.
Jolt down in unity, before the matter cease
& den only I will be resting in peace.

Haiku: Physics: Colored Perceptions

blue planet water
blue sky just scattered sunbeams
dusk's red, unbent light

Brian Johnston
July 28,2014

Poet's Notes:
Isn't it great? Three wonders of nature explained in 17 wordsIt is so much fun
sharing my love of Physics with othersLay people in general have no idea the
treasure they are missingOf course Religious Literalists are the most deprived
They literally live in the stone age (and the rock is all between their ears!)

Physics is not a replacement for God in my mind, but rather, like a beautiful
sunset, another way of viewing Him, of experiencing His love for usPhysics is
just a different perspective of the same mountain as it were

God is mysterious (but he is also accessible) He is a humanist (loving us as
He loves His own son) , a mathematician (the underpinnings of Physics) , a
musician (think of the joy we experience in all harmonies, even discordant
ones) , an artist (the waiting beauty of galaxies far exceeding the imagination
of man) , a humorist (who besides me doesn't think that it is extremely funny
that the Jews, as His chosen people, behaved no differently really than non-
Jews - God granting special favours clearly does not make us better people
'Just do this for me God and I will never stray! ' Really just hilarious!) , and on
and on

Really, as usual, Einstein had a very interesting perspective that I think we
should all embrace, 'Reality is an illusion! ' And so it is folks! The only posture
appropriate in the presence of God is one of extreme humility (and gratitude)
Let me quote one of my own echo poems here, Echo: Alone Too..

Alone….with the lost! Are prayers ever answered?
Alone….my heart overwhelmedCould that be a prayer?
I look at the rainbow as summer squall passes
And find that I'm grateful that I am a player

Aren't all of life's problems, in the grand scheme of things (if we are honest)
really little more than a 'summer squall? '

The Fox, The Wolf, The Coyote

A wizard of wild
Seasonal changes his world
Sly and cunning games

Open fields are home
To always play till days end
Hunting more than sport

A flash of movement
Traces of his whereabouts
Are scarcely a trail.

Magician of beast
Blending one within his own
Timeless enchantment

A graceful harshness
A beautiful wilderness
Harsh environments

An eerie silence
Approaching from the shadows
Cloaked in mystery.

Fearless by nature
Radiant energy bounds
An essence of one

Playful and naughty
Shadows of monsters lurking
Elected by force

A challenge to live
Surviving in modern days
Resilient by far.

Why Are You Being This Way

Why are you being like this?
Oh how I just wished we could be friends,
But it ain't gonna happen,
Because you hate me for no reason.
Just because I'm not popular, because
I am less than you.
I just wished you knew,
Knew how I felt about,
How I used to like you,
All the things I did,
I was scared to talk to you,
Then when I found enough courage,
To talk, you block me out of your life,
As if I never exsisted.
Maybe I never exsisted around you,
But how can you be so oblivious,
And miss that I needed you?
Why oh why can't you see this pain?
Do you care?
Do you wish you could know me better?
Do you ever think of me at least once?
Do you care wheather I live or die?
Of course you don't because,
I am just dead to you,
I am just a pity ghost to you,
A horrible nightmare that won't go away.
I slowly die inside,
From all the times I've cried.
(I've cried for you.)
You look at me,
With your beautiful brown eyes,
You look right through me,
Like I was never alive.
I am invisible,
I always will be to you.
For some reason I knew,
I would always be like this
To you.
I wish you were missin' me
Like I was missin' you,
But no matter what I do,
I am always dead to you.
Someday I hope we can be friends.
 I Miss You

power draws inside

Flying high one soul
from an imagination

Sweetly emotions
singing illusions, one dream

In the arrow strikes
what a fantasy dream sits
feeling floating rose

Essence butterflies
fluttering blossoms sweetly
Explosion hotly

A soul it sang in

You sipped wine with grace
an amazing smile I could
feel the blood rushing

If I lost you love
a lone wolf will forever
howl to her face sad

Tears sweet surrender
never ending searching space
full of love howling

Felt like kneeling at
your feet adoring beauty
you will always be

Oath of forever
love that very night to you
smiling beautiful

You lit up such love
flames on fire with your
grasping talons hot

Took hold of me deep
your smile was amazing cute
drawing one starlight

THE SCARLET IBIS

national bird of
Trinidad and Tobago
Caribbean Isle

the scarlet ibis
it is a tropical bird
bright red in color

it has a long neck
and it's bill is long and curved
feathers are black tipped

feet are slightly webbed
it's legs are long and skinny
with a wide wing span

beak is used to probe
in mud and shallow water
where it looks for food

you should see it fly
with its long neck extended
as if it's gliding

it's a good fighter
fights with beak legs and it's wings
protects its offspring

scarlet ibis is
one of the most beautiful
of bird family

they're gregarious
rest in colonies in trees
they travel in flocks

united they are
we can learn a thing or two
from these awesome birds.

                                     You Beautiful Little Thing

Perfect You

You are the ocean,
Sparkling blue and green...serene
Wind blows east to west

You are the sky, dear,
Painted baby blue...I've seen
You...resting on clouds

You are the river,
Rapidly running...running...
Away from the hills

You are the mountains,
Crowned with snow, shining aglow
Oh, you never fail

To impress me so
You are the nature of God -
A grand creation

A beautiful pic -
You are perfect and epic...
Eight hundredth poem!

Forever Beautiful

Ascent completed
Beautiful views together
Forever in sight

*** atop the mountain the only thing more beautiful was being beside my wife :)

The beautiful tree
Is on display in our house

eyes behold weath of

flowers winged and scented
