the early bird is crowing

Mama's surprise child —
from our beds we shout out names

mother bird calling for its baby
eaten by the cat

mantis catches butterfly
I am sad: yet, that is 
the way of nature

loud feathered thud
- flight into eternity
deceptive glass pane

tiny baby bird 
mouth is constantly open
parents always feed

From the nest, a fall
Tumbling with few feathers down
Soft ground is a kiss

Stinky-Butt crawls
like a snail and leaves a trail.
My baby brother.

I savour the smell
of talcum

The words sound so sweet
imitated by parrots
Like baby babbles

Watching her smile,
Playing with her,
I wish nothing more!
