Heather, it is the word mingling, according to the dictionary the syllable count is min-gling and I checked different syllable counters and the syllable count is 2, so just fix that line and all is good, constance

The combinations of sights and sounds in this wonderful haiku make for a real pleasant and relaxing picture. It brings memories of sleeping under the stars in the summer; I can hardly wait till it is warm enough at night!

Lovely picture you've captured. I spent many nights alone looking up at the sky when I was a teenager...because I was too drunk to stand...and too Irish to pass out...ha.

Hey Heather. Night time and crickets and little haikus that pack a wallop. I think this is my favorite one of the night. I love it when people write about crickets, it makes me feel good. You did it well here.

Very nice, and in keeping with Japanese references to nature or the seasons. I'm doing a bit of reading about Beat, modernist and avant-garde haiku. The conventions apparently no longer matter, however lovely they may be. Jack
